Role Purpose

To lead the delivery of high-impact procurement and supply chain projects across Prism Healthcare Group’s UK and MUSA divisions, champion Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles within sourcing and supplier management, and coach divisional teams to adopt consistent best practice procurement ways of working. The role operates through matrix leadership (no direct line management responsibility), influencing and coordinating cross-functional stakeholders to deliver measurable value, compliance, risk control, service improvement and sustainability outcomes. This is a Hybrid/WFH contract with frequent and regular travel across all divisions required.

Key Responsibilities

Project leadership and delivery

• Lead cross-functional procurement projects from scoping to implementation (e.g., tendering exercises, category reviews, supplier rationalisation, contract renewals, and process improvements).
  
• Build and manage project plans, timelines, RAID logs, stakeholder maps and communications; ensure decisions are taken at the right level and at pace.
  
• Track and report benefits (cash/non-cash savings, cost avoidance, service improvements, risk reduction, ESG outcomes) and ensure adoption is embedded.
  
• Support the Group automation (AI, MRP) procurement workstream, including process mapping, data cleansing, supplier master data governance and user readiness.

Matrix leadership and coaching

• Lead through influence in a matrix environment, coordinating work across divisions and functions to ensure consistent adoption of Group procurement standards.
  
• Coach divisional procurement and operational stakeholders on best practice sourcing, negotiation, contracting and supplier relationship management.
  
• Support development of practical procurement toolkits, templates and guidance (e.g., sourcing process, evaluation models, contracting standards, KPI frameworks and governance).

ESG leadership (responsible procurement)

• Champion ESG in procurement decision-making, embedding ethical and sustainable sourcing principles into policies, processes and stakeholder behaviours.
  
• Incorporate ESG requirements into tender documentation, evaluation criteria, supplier due diligence and contract terms (proportionate to category risk and spend).
  
• Support supply chain risk management including ethical sourcing, modern slavery risk awareness, environmental impact considerations, and continuous improvement with suppliers.

Supplier and contract governance

• Support supplier performance management, including KPI design, review cadence, corrective actions and continuous improvement plans.
  
• Contribute to contract governance, ensuring compliance with Group standards, auditability and appropriate risk controls.
  
• Partner with Quality, Operations, Finance and other functions to balance service, quality, cost, risk and sustainability.
  
• Ensure supplier qualification and contracting activities meet the requirements of the regulated medical device environment, including documentation standards, audit readiness and quality system integration (e.g. ISO 13485 / MDR considerations).

Reporting, insight and continuous improvement

• Maintain procurement dashboards and management information (e.g., pipeline, savings/value delivery, compliance, supplier performance, risk/ESG measures).
  
• Use data and insight to identify opportunities, remove bottlenecks, improve controls and streamline ways of working.
  
• Support the Group Head of Procurement with governance packs, stakeholder updates, roadmap delivery and continuous improvement initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential

• Significant experience in procurement, with exposure to direct and/or indirect spend categories.
• Demonstrable experience delivering procurement projects end-to-end (tenders, category reviews, contract implementation and change adoption).
• Experience supporting contracting and supplier performance management, including KPI setting and supplier review cadence.
• Comfortable working across multiple sites/divisions in a matrix environment, balancing local needs with Group standards.
• Strong commercial judgement and negotiation skills; able to identify and manage risk appropriately.
• Strong knowledge and demonstratable experience of supply chain planning methodologies both in Excel and ERP environments.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Desirable

• CIPS qualification (or working towards).
• Project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2) desirable.
• Experience embedding ESG requirements within sourcing, supplier due diligence and contract frameworks.
• Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment (e.g. medical devices, pharma, aerospace) where supplier qualification and audit readiness are required.

Measures of Success (Example KPIs)

• Delivery of agreed procurement project outcomes to time/quality (and realised benefits)
• Delivery of agreed frequent travel requirements
• Stakeholder satisfaction and adoption of Group procurement ways of working
• Improvements in compliance, governance and auditability
• Supplier performance improvements and risk mitigation actions completed
• ESG integration evidenced in tenders/contracts/supplier reviews

This role is Home Based/offered as a Hybrid working position, and will require travel to different sites including Rhyl, Kingswinford, Newton Abbott, Pershore and Rotherham.

Role Description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to support our procurement team across all functions. This role involves assisting in the sourcing and expediting of goods to meet the company’s operational and strategic requirements, with careful consideration of cost, quality, delivery timelines, service levels, and supply continuity.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with buyers to resolve invoice queries related to the purchase ledger and will be responsible for general administrative support and data analysis to ensure efficient procurement processes.

Essential Duties

• Assisting with the procurement of goods and services to support operational sites across the Prism Group.
• Expedite Purchase Orders and update delivery dates and maintain accurate system information.
• Proactively identify potential supply chain and or quality issues, communicate delays or supplier-related concerns to the team in a timely manner, and support the resolution of problems to ensure continuity of operations.
• Take ownership of updating the divisional price matrix and KPI sheet with new pricing where required
• Assist in working closely with the Finance Team, ensuring any invoice queries or NDIs are actioned daily and responses provided within agreed timescales.
• Support Research & Development Projects costing, whilst adhering to timeline and project milestones
• Support data analysis and maintenance within the procurement function, in line with the group objectives

Education & Experience

• Work experience as a procurement assistant or similar role

• Familiar with quality and regulatory requirements and standards, i.e. ISO9001, ISO13485, PPAP, QMS
• Good understanding of supply chain procedures and planning methodologies
• Experience of MRP/ERP Database Systems
